As far as badges of honor go, having Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez attack you by name is a pretty good one. Several years ago, he accused me of being a spy for the CIA out to destroy him and his government.
Talk about thin skin. You tell the truth about a freedom-oppressing, anti-Semitic thug who allies himself with numerous terrorist organizations while running his once-vibrant nation into the ground and his fragile mind goes into fantasy mode. Then again, the Chavez attack against the truth is also one of the "Rules for Radicals" taught by the late Neo-Marxist Saul Alinsky - as in the same Neo-Marxist who serves as a role model for President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Leaving that dangerous fact aside for the moment, it's also true that Mr. Chavez is beloved by much of the American left. Actors and mental giants Sean Penn, Danny Glover and Harry Belafonte all like to literally hug the dictator (oops, Sean Penn has warned conservatives not to call Mr. Chavez a "dictator" - or else), while condemning our nation and traditional values. Joining these actors from the political left are the likes of Joseph Kennedy, William Delahunt, Rep. Jose Serrano, New York Democrat, and a host of others from our government and mainstream media who think nothing of embracing a tyrant who tramples the human rights of his own people, sides with Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah, is buying billions of dollars in weapons systems and is determined to make Venezuela a nuclear power.
Even with all of that going against him, Mr. Chavez may have stumbled upon a solution for the illegal alien and poverty issues that plague our nation. The good news is that his far-left buddies here in the United States can spearhead and participate in "the Chavez solution."
As one who has traveled to Venezuela many times, I know the two things the despot really hates is rich people and successful capitalism. Like our own president, Mr. Chavez believes in a redistribution of wealth. In fact, Chavez strongly believes that if you are a rich person and have extra rooms in your home, then you have an obligation to open them up to the less fortunate - or else.
Perfect. Since wealthy liberals like Frank Rich, Maureen Dowd, Keith Olbermann, Eugene Robinson, Nancy Pelosi, Jon Stewart, Sean Penn and many others in Hollywood, Congress and the media think the new law in Arizona designed to protect the sovereign borders of our republic (where not only illegal aliens cross but also Islamic extremists) is an "abomination" and an "assault on human dignity," they can simply offer up the extra space in their opulent, multimillion-dollar homes to the illegal aliens they praise and protect with hackneyed rhetoric.
Come on, ultra-wealthy liberals. You know who you are and how massive your fortunes truly are. Step up for the illegal aliens and make "El Loco" Chavez proud. Open your homes to those who normally clean them and serve drinks and appetizers at your Upper-East Side gatherings.
More than that, why don't you share - or redistribute - your excess money. Why not just keep the bare minimum you need to eat and keep the lights on and then give the rest to those who have nothing?
The logic here is infallible. You love Hugo Chavez, who, like a corrupt and twisted Venezuelan Robin Hood, believes in taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor. Surely, disgustingly wealthy liberals like George Soros, David Geffen, Barbra Streisand and Michael Bloomberg (who just shamefully tried to implicate the Tea Party for the Muslim car bomb in Times Square) would be willing to just keep a few hundred thousand a year for themselves and then give their extra millions or billions to either illegal aliens or the homeless in their own cities.
As Mr. Chavez funnels billions of Venezuela's money into offshore accounts, just think how happy he would be with the news that the liberals in the United States who admire him so much are adhering to his Marxist dictates.
Come to think of it, last time I checked, Barack Obama has about $14 million. Shouldn't he also lead by example and open the White House to illegal aliens and the homeless while redistributing his wealth?
I'm just asking.
